Salvage Saturday with Cincy Book Bus

It may not be for everyone, but if you’re a lover of industrial carts, pocket doors, barn wood, antique medicine cabinets and pretty much anything cast iron or metal, you’re a lover of salvage. As I write this blog I look around my home and see corrugated metal walls, a 120 year door acting as facing for our kitchen island and a giant light up arrow; that once hung at amusement park, now hanging from the ceiling in our family room. If you’ve ever looked up while driving west on High Street perhaps you’ve seen it thru our window. Our house is layered with texture and fabrics. I love plants and fresh flowers and how it all pairs up with touches of eclectic and modern. But underneath it all, you’ll find a pretty solid foundation of salvaged goods.

A couple of years ago we hosted our first Salvage Saturday. We invited some favorite vendors and collectors to set up outside the shop and brought out a few of our own finds as well. This month we are so excited to have the Cincy Book Bus joining us! If you have never seen a vintage bus in pristine condition pull up and instantly transform itself into a little book store you’re missing out! Once again we’ll be pulling out antique ceiling tiles, old doors, windows, furniture and miscellaneous great items from our workshop. Between the Book Bus and our collected treasures, the sidewalk outside our shop should look pretty inviting! Speaking of that, you’re all invited to join us, Saturday, July 13th, 10 to 4pm for Salvage Saturday!
