Hamilton featured as Best Hometown in Ohio Magazine

Hamilton’s history stretches back to 1791 with the establishment of Fort Hamilton along the Great Miami River. By the mid-19th century, the city was a hot spot for manufacturing, but the industry waned following World War II. Despite the adverse affects a changing industrial society had on the city during the 1900s, health care, manufacturing and education — both in the Hamilton City School District and at Miami University — are among the area’s top employers. Building restoration and the addition of new public parks and art followed. Today, Hamilton is home to approximately 63,000 residents and covers 22 square miles.

Experience at Sara's House

Experience at Sara's House

A year ago, we hosted a fundraiser in our store to help Experience. We had a great turnout and was able to give $1000 to help local kids in Hamilton! We just hosted another one this fall and it was an even greater success. It's so encouraging to see so many friends and new faces support our community in this small way. Thank you for shopping with a purpose in Hamilton.

Self Care

Self Care

What is self-care?
Self-care is any activity or mindset that we do deliberately in order to take care of our mental, emotional, and physical health. Although it’s a simple concept, it’s something we very often overlook. Good self-care is key to improved mood and reduced anxiety.

What isn’t self-care?
Knowing what self-care is not might be even more important. It is not something that we force ourselves to do, or something we don’t enjoy doing. As Agnes Wainman explained, self-care is “something that refuels us, rather than takes from us.”

Something old is always new at Sara’s House in Hamilton, a boutique featuring repurposed vintage furniture and accessories made by local artists. Interesting finds include a surveyor’s tripod and a megaphone that have found new life as a floor lamp, and a Victorian carpet bag that’s been transformed into a gnome hat fit for an infant.
